ABOUT THE ARTIST
Amy K. Tubbs grew up in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. She earned her Art Degree from University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA and received departmental honors for excellence in painting. Her artistic inspiration comes
from
nature, her travels and her favorite artists- among them the great colorist, Henri Matisse.
Now Amy K. Tubbs Studio in Alexandria, VA, her business began as Murals by Amy in 1999 when she painted her first mural for a friend. Since then, she built her business through word-of-mouth referrals and today countless works adorn homes and businesses throughout the greater Washington DC area.
On average, over 50 new projects a year are added to an ever-growing portfolio including painting for some great new businesses:
The Sugar Cube in Old Towne, Alexandria, and MY GYM Children's Fitness Center
and Beulah Café in Kingstowne, VA. Another notable mural was painted for a home listed on the National Historic Registry- and built in the mid 1700's!
